Should have experience with power electronics, switching power supplies, analog and digital control theory, and embedded design. Will also resolve and implement corrective action steps when technical problems occur. Essential Functions:·         Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure that hardware requirements and specifications are realistic and as optimal as possible for implementation·         Hardware architecture, component selection, and simulation of design to meet requirements and specifications·         Schematic Capture·         PCB layout and routing·         PCBA debugging·         Firmware design and debug·         Support integration of hardware into system with other Ultralife or 3rd party hardware and software·         Specify test equipment, software tools, and other development tools as needed to complete projects Additional Responsibilities:·         Resolve technical problems that arise·         Support presentation and recommendations to upper management·         Create and maintain CAD libraries for the design, simulation, and layout of PCBs·         Develop relationships with manufacturers’ and distributors’ applications engineers as well as PCB fabricators and software tool providers·         Maintain awareness of significant developments in hardware engineering through industry periodicals, trade associations, and continuing education·         Supervise co-ops, interns, or technicians working on hardware projects as needed

Details: Interactive Communications and Creative Design Manager.  United Way seeking a highly creative communications pro responsible for all aspects of web system development, e-communications & social media, and graphic design including planning, design, release, and marketing.  Must have track record of successful project management.  Send resume and two creative samples to   by Friday, July 30.   EOEESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESInteractive Media·         Develop, recommend, implement, coordinate, and analyze strategies, plans, and digital communication activities designed to maximize awareness, drive website traffic, and increase constituent understanding.·         Develop and maintain a comprehensive, user friendly, engaging website that supports the operation of UWGLV. ·         Write, develop, and deploy e-communication strategies designed to improve constituent relations such as:  newsletters, action alerts, and e-cards.·         Maintain and grow the effective use of social media including Facebook, Linked In, Twitter, etc.; research and report on digital and social media trends.·         Track and measure activity results.·         Research and implement developing applications to communicate UWGLV’s mission using the web such as:  online giving, blogs, podcasting, and video casting; evaluate their relevance and impact for UWGLV.·         Work with other departments to educate them on new technologies that can further their work.  Help them to develop a communications plan that includes web services.  Recommend ways to translate their publications/content for use on the web.·         Create and maintain online surveys.  Train users to perform certain functions. Creative Design·         Execute design and graphic concepts consistent with agreed upon team goals.·         Work in collaboration with the Marketing team to develop collateral such as flyers, brochures, invitations, posters, certificates, etc.·         Create and manage graphics, photographs and video catalogs.·         Work with the Director of Marketing on coordination of graphics and printing done through outside designers, printers, and advertising firms.·         Provide United Way staff with creative and cost effective options in design and materials. ·         Promote organizational compliance of brand guidelines.·         Secure access, terms of use and copyright permissions required for the use of third-party images, photographs, artwork, and illustrations used within the production cycle. OTHER DUTIES·         Become conversant about the United Way brand, mission, and background in order to convey and integrate brand messages consistently and appropriately in handling inquiries, questions, and interactions with volunteers, vendors, agencies, and the public.·         Assist Marketing team with any and all additional duties to achieve communication objectives.·         May serve on cross-functional or cross-departmental team(s) as appropriate.·         Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone JOB RELATIONSHIPSExternalWorking relationships with community and corporate leaders including business/ civic/ foundation leaders, donor companies and representatives, volunteers, and general public.  Relevant vendors and consultants. InternalDirect working relationships with Vice President of Marketing & Communications, Senior Manager of Marketing & Communications and CRM lead staff.  Working relationships staff of all functional areas: community impact, finance, resource development, and strategy, engagement, and operations. These job responsibilities are to be the main emphasis of this position.  As with every job at United Way, it is not possible to define jobs precisely.  Should the need exist, every person in the organization will assist in any way necessary to assure an efficient and cooperative environment.

It also requires patience  and excellent computer screen vision - with or without glasses.  We need someone who can work independently as part of a small team, with good organizational skills and time management abilities.  You will obtain your work from, and record and log your work into, a database.  Other tasks include: converting completed logos to various formats, loading converted files into a library for proprietary use, researching web sites, and quality control for build and color sampling. This is a project hire, from four to six months.  We offer you flexible daytime hours and an excellent work environment.Previous experience is definitely a PLUS.  A college degree in graphic design is helpful but not required.  Just out of school?  We'll consider your candidacy if you are fluent in the software.  Salary depends on experience and skills.  Please submit your resume for consideration.
